SoCal trip report day 2: Disneyland

Back again at Disneyland.

This time around Jaylyn wore her Elsa dress that she got from Don & Amanda when we were here last month.

We headed to Lamplight Lounge hoping to get breakfast, but they weren't open yet.

I guess we'll have a Pixar Pier Frosty Parfait from Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats for breakfast instead. It's so delicious.

Had about two hours to burn before Lamplight Lounge opened to for lunch. So we rode Midway Mania.

Wore the shirts that Tomi and Tera got for us last month.

Some more snacks before lunch. Caliente Churro (spicy churro) tasted like the cinnamon-flavored candy and your standard Cinnamon Super Galaxy Churro.

Edible glitter.

The Festival of Holidays was back again. Pork al Pastor Naan Taco- with pineapple, pico de gallo, and cilantro-lime-crema. This was really good.

Warm Bourbon Cider. Great on a cold day, but it was really warm at the park when we visited.

Jaylyn has been into the Little Mermaid recently so we had to go on the ride.

Hidden Mickey!

It was finally time for lunch.

This was our first time dining at the Lamplight Lounge since it changed from Ariel's Grotto. It's actually a very nice place to hang out and have drinks.

Zombie & Bloody Mary.

Kid's menu: grilled chicken tenders, sweet orange sauce, veggies w/ hummus, and fruit.

Deviled eggs & toast: creamy egg salad, toasted almond romesco sauce, dill, manchego crisp, and toast.

Crab and Tuna roll: stone crab with avocado, jicama, yellowfin tuna, and fireball-yuzu sauce.

Ratatouille: roasted eggplant and bell pepper ragout with zucchini noodles, burrata cheese, mushrooms, smoked tomato sauce, and basil aioli.

Chicken Sandwich: crispy chicken breast with spicy chili sauce, vinegar slaw, pineapple butter, pickles, and toasted Amish bun served with malted fries. The sandwich was okay, but the fries were really good.

Fun Wheel.

After lunch, we headed to the Hollywood Backlot so Jaylyn can meet Elsa.

While Tammy and Robyn were waiting in line, John and I headed out to get more food and drinks. Yes, I know we just ate lunch. LOL.

Reimagined Beef Wellington.

Holiday Hard Cider: Honest Abe Apple Pie Hard Cider with spiced Rum. The Backlot Michelada. You can find these at Hollywood Lounge.

Shepard's Upside-down pie (plant-based) Tammy really liked it.

Jaylyn waiting to meet Queen Elsa.

I'm pretty sure she can spend the entire day here.

We were hoping to meet Anna this time, but it was Olaf again.

Headed over to Disneyland to meet up with your friend Phil & Quyen.

As many times I have been to Disneyland. I think this was my first time ever visiting The Golden Horseshoe.

House-made chocolate chunk cookie sundae.

It was time for our reservation for Oga's Cantina. We missed our reservation last month. So we had to visit this time. From my understanding, Oga's Cantina is by reservations only at this time. You can make reservations as early as 2 weeks in advance.

The Stormtrooper guest interaction is fun to watch.

When it comes to Disney, it's all about the details. Check out the label on this bottle of Dasani.

Oga's Cantina is so detailed. It's very cramped though and all of the tables are communal.

Oga's Cantina is the only place you can get alcoholic beverages in Disneyland besides Club 33. They say you have a 45 min time limit and guests are limited to two drinks per person. All of the drinks are pre-set so you can't order your own special recipe.

Happabore Sampler: cured meats, artisan cheeses, pickled and preserved rations, crackers.

Left: Jedi Mind Trick: Ketel One Botanical Grapefruit and Rose Vodka, John D. Taylor's Velvet Falernum, Bols Blue Curacao, White Grape Juice, Lime Juice, and Grapefruit Bitters.

Right: Fuzzy Tauntaun: Ciroc Peach Vodka, Bols Peach Schnapps, and Simply Orange Topped with Tangerine, Pure Cane Sugar "Buzzz" Foam. Heard a lot about the numbing foam so I had to try it. It's the drink is good, but the foam is very interesting.

T-16 Skyhopper: Tito's Handmade Vodka, Bols melon Liqueur, Kiwi, and half & half.

Stephen really enjoying his balloon.

Tried to catch the parade but the littles ones didn't really care for it much.

Headed over to Fantasyland for some kiddie rides.

I think the last time I rode Dumbo was in highschool.

The wait time for Small World was 50 mins and they were all out of fast-passes. So we skipped it and got fast passes for Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters.

After the ride, it was time to head back to the hotel. We were tired from a long day at the park.

That's it for day two. Tomorrow it's a little bit of shopping, lunch, then we head home.
