Nassau, Bahamas day 4: Cafe Madelein, Athena Cafe, Shuang Ba, & Oh Andros.. again

Wednesday morning I was feeling a lot better. Tammy wanted breakfast from Cafe Madeleine.

They have crystal rock candy sticks to sweeten up your coffee.

Since I was feeling better. I was ready to start drinking. Started with a Lemon Sorbet Mimosa which was delicious.

Cafe Madeleine also offers picnic baskets. You can choose from the Romance basket for two $110 or the family basket for four $180.

Croque-Madame $15: ham, cheese, bechamel and fried egg sandwich

Mixed berries and lemon cream cheese crepe $14. This was really good.

After breakfast we took the bus to downtown to do some souvenir shopping.

There are high end designer stores like John Bull, Fendi, & Cartier, but there's also local stalls selling you typical souvenir stuff you would usually find e.g shot glasses, shirts, & magnets.

It was a pretty hot day. So we made a stop for some drinks at Twisted Lime Bar

We were starting to get hungry. So we were looking for a place that had air conditioning so we can cool off and eat. We passed by a Mediterranean restaurant earlier. Athena Cafe

They had fresh coconut for $6

Chicken Souvlaki

Conch Fritters. These were meatier than the ones we had a Oh Andros.

Fried Calamari

Grilled Chicken Caesar

Chicken Gyro. Pretty good.

After lunch we headed back to our resort to hit the beach.

When we were walking back onto the property Rick saw the gardeners trimming the coconut trees. So he went and asked them for the coconuts that they were cutting down and they gave it to him. He tipped them for it. Beats buying them for $6 each.

When we were walking through the casino to the pool, a guest that was playing slots was whistling at Rick trying to get his attention. He wanted to buy two coconuts. We laughed it off.

Yes Rick packed his own machete. It goes with him on every trip and it came in handy.

The rain came back again.

We tried going back to the Regatta Buffet for dinner, but they were closed. Not sure why they were closed. It's suppose to be open daily 6-10 pm.

We tried stopping by Shuang Ba on tuesday, but they're closed on Monday & Tuesday. So we thought we would try dining there on Wednesday.
After sitting and looking at the menu I saw that they had BBQ Pork Buns here also. Just like Stix Noodle Bar, but it was $22 for 3 pieces. That cost more than double the price of Stix. We wanted to order soup. They had Lobster Soup for $22. We asked how many people it would serve. They said it's a just a cup. Only serves one person. That's when we decided not to dine at Shuang Ba. We had already ordered some beverage and tea. The tea was delicious and the service was very attentive. We asked to pay for our beverages, but they ended up comping it which was very generous of them. I would have liked to dine there, but we were worried that we were going to spend several hundred dollars for a meal that would probably leave us hungry.

We liked Oh Andros so much that we headed back there for dinner. Sun was setting as we were heading to the Fish Fry. It was a beautiful sight.

Since the portions were so large and Tammy and I had a hard time finishing it the other day. This time we settled for just two items. We got hot wings and lobster. Which was also delicious. Like during lunch time it took about an hour from sit down to receiving our food. It was a lot busier dinner. They also ran out fried rice, macaroni, & potato salad. So if you want to try all of the good stuff you might want to visit during lunch. I was told they are open until 2 am.

Rick got the seafood platter but grilled this time.

After dinner we headed back to Phat's suite to play drinking games.

Got pretty drunk and headed to the casino floor to try to win some money back.

I didn't win my money back.

That ends day 4. Only one night left. :(
