Hawaii Dec 2019 trip report day 7: Cream Pot, The Plumeria Lounge

While everyone else was a little tired and hungover, Tammy and I went out for breakfast at Cream Pot. I really wanted to try their Souffle Pancakes. If you're going to visit Cream Pot, it's located inside a hotel and you can park at the hotel garage for free because they validate.

Cream Pot blended ice coffee and cream (Vietnamese style)

Fresh Strawberry Souffle Pancakes. I love souffle and this was amazing.

After breakfast headed back and packed our things and headed to the airport.
We spent the rest of our time at The Plumeria Lounge until it was time for our flight. Conveniently located next to the lounge is the free shuttle that will take you to your gate.

Complimentary snacks.

All you can drink beer and wine. There wasn't a bar at this lounge, but you can drink all you want. It's self serve.

Beef and vegetable soup.

That's it for this trip. A week goes by so quickly. I wish we stayed longer.

Where to next? Las Vegas. Stay tuned.

Hawaii Dec 2019 trip report day 6: HeLena's Hawaiian Food, Beach Bar, Rivals, KCC Farmers Market, Tenkaippin Ramen, Chuck's Cellar

Finally got a chance to eat at Helena's Hawaiian Food. They are closed from Saturday to Monday.

Helena's is known for their aged Pipikaula style ribs. You can see them hanging in the kitchen.

The ribs are a bit greasy but still delicious.

Fried butterfish collar. So delicious and very juicy. You have to try this.

After breakfast, we headed to Walmart because my mom wanted to buy Piaca Pineapple Shortcake and she was searching for a deal. Walmart didn't have it, the ABC Store did but she didn't want to pay full price. LOL.

When we got back we headed to Beach Bar at Ala Moana Surfrider.

It's my favorite place to drink if I want to be next to the beach. Great vibe, lots of shade under the Banyan Tree, but food and drinks are a little pricey.

Cabana Coconut: Ketel One, passionfruit & strawberry puree, Disaronno, house-made lime sour, coconut cream and mint. It's a really good drink. $16

The girls worked on a bottle of B&G Rose.

Ahi Poke Nachos. $19

1944 Mai Tai $16

I love the atmosphere and music here.

After a few drinks, Peter took my mom in search of the Pineapple shortcake. She ended getting it from the ABC Store for $9 a box, but later in the day, they ended up at CVS where it was $7 bucks. My mom wouldn't let Peter hear the end of it.

The rest of us ended up at Rivals again. The drinks are cheap and I love playing games.

The KCC Farmers Market is opened on Saturday morning at 7:30a-11a & Tuesday evening 4p-7p. Since we missed it on Saturday morning Viet and I tried visiting on Tuesday evening.

There were only a few vendors. We were really disappointed because on Saturdays there is a lot more vendors. We were saving our appetite for the farmers market.

Instead, we ended up at Tenkaippin Ramen for dinner.

My favorite is Kotteri Ramen, which wasn't listed on the menu, but they were still able to make it. Their menu has changed since the last time I was here.

Tammy has the spicy Tan Tan ramen and it was also really good. I think it's actually better than the Kotteri.

We go the set that came with fried rice and gyoza.

After dinner we met up with the others at Chuck's Cellar.

Chuck's Cellar reminded me of the House of Prime Rib in San Francisco.

More drinks.

Super old school register.

Everyone else went out to meet some other friends at a local bar. The rest of us headed back to our hotel to rest. We grabbed some snacks at Musubi Cafe while we were on our way.

Jensen eating her aged Big Mac.

Phillip's friend Chris gave him a Lady M crepe cake. It was really good.

That ends our last night in Oahu.

Tomorrow we pack our things and head home.
