Las Vegas 2022 day 3: Lardo, Area 15, Virtualis, Ichiza, The Barbershop Cuts & Cocktails

Woke up and met up with the group for lunch in the food court at Cosmo.
District: Sliders, Donuts, Brews was one of the few places that were open since it was still breakfast time.

Scrambled eggs & cheese biscuit sandwiches.
While we were waiting for the other restaurants to open we brought down drinks while we waited.
Lardo: was a sandwich place I wanted to try.

Bronx Bomber: shaved steak, house provolone "whiz", roasted and pickled peppers, vinegar mayo, shredded lettuce.
Pho'rench Dip: shaved beef, hoisin, sambal mayo, Thai basil, pho'broth.
Lardo Fries: fried herbs, parmesan.
Sancho's Grilled Cheese: brisket burnt ends, cheddar & American, pickled jalapenos, shredded iceberg.

I thought this was okay.
Hattie B's Hot Chicken.

Chicken tenders (mild) Tammy said it was a bit salty.
After lunch, we headed to Area 15 Immersive Entertainment & Events District. I've been wanting to check this place out ever since I heard about Omega Mart in 2020.

I'm not sure how to describe the place but it's well worth the visit if you wanna do something different than what Vegas usually has to offer.

It's free to visit during the day but I believe they charge an entry fee on Friday and Saturday nights cause they have a DJ and whatnot. If you have tickets to an experience at AREA 15 then you can enter free whenever.
The staff informed me that they don't allow prosumer or DSLR cameras, but phones are fine. I had my camera with me but I didn't use it while I was inside.
Area 15 is a fun place to visit and great visually. We didn't visit Omega Mart cause I've heard mixed reviews about it and we had a large group. I would feel bad if my friends wasted $60 bucks and didn't enjoy it. I'll come back another time and visit. It did look really fun though.
The centerpiece of AREA 15 is its bar under an LED tree. It's really cool and the drinks are good also.
Instead of Omega Mart, we did Virtualis. It's a Sandbox VR experience. I had done The Void in the past and it was a blast so I knew my friends would like this. It's about $60 for the experience and takes around 30 mins or so. If you haven't heard of sandbox VR it's VR but in an empty space where you can walk around and play. So you don't have to be stationary.

At first, some of my friends didn't want to do it, but we booked it anyways and they all had a blast in the end. We all played Patient Zero (zombies) we broke up into 3 groups.
My friends had such a blast playing that we ended up playing it again but we did Showdown. Showdown is a 3 vs 3 battle arena game. 3 rounds and the arena changes each round. My team was getting stomped on by Brandon's team. The first-round score was 35 to 19 if I remember. In the second round, we did a bit better but it was 52 to 39. I didn't think we had a chance of winning since we were down by 13 kills, but on the third round I found a transporter and transported me behind Brandon's team's spawn point and they had no idea where I was. We were able to make a major comeback to win it at 73 to 65. One of the best highlights of the trip. Thanks, Brandon for getting murked.
I honestly thought we were only going to be at AREA 15 for a couple of hours but we ended up staying for way longer. After we headed to Ichiza for dinner. We used to come here all the time, but it's been a while since we've been back.
Salmon and Ikura bowl
Uni
Agedashi Tofu
Braised pork belly.
I think this was hot and sour fried chicken.
Miso Cod and an assortment of Yakitori
Buttered cheese corn. This was really good.
Jalapeno fried rice.
Garlic fried rice.
Honey Toast. A huge hunk of toast with honey and vanilla ice cream. This is as good as I remembered.
After dinner, we headed back to the hotel.

We gambled for a good while and took a break and visit The Barbershop Cuts & Cocktails.
It's a lounge that is disguised as a Barbershop. From the outside, you could never tell that there was a lounge hidden behind the bar. It was soundproofed really well.

When we walked it they had a live band play their renditions of cover songs. The band was amazing and we had a blast there.
Eventually called it a night.

The next morning we headed out for breakfast, packed out things, and headed to the airport.

That ends this trip.

Where to next?

We're off to Disney for our annual Halloween trip. Stay tuned.

Las Vegas 2022 day 2: La Salsa Cantina, Sakana Sushi

We woke up pretty early since the rest of the group started to arrive in Vegas.
We had them meet us at our hotel and departed for breakfast at La Salsa Cantina at Miracle Mile Shops. This place is known for cheap food and drinks. Breakfast and drinks start at under $6 bucks.
Left: $.99 bloody mary right: $1.99 double bloody mary. Go for the the double.
The food was good, service was great.
After breakfast headed back to the hotel for some drinks.
After a few drinks we headed over to Palazzo to meet up with the rest of the group.
Phat had stocked up his room for some drinks before we head to the pool.
We drank at the pool for a while and eventually got hungry and made our way to Sakan Sushi. My brother has been telling me about this all-you-can-eat sushi spot. It's only $30 for AYCE. We got there for a really late lunch. They told us it was a 2-hour wait so we walked over to Target and bought some drinks and hung out in front of the restaurant.
It ended up only being about an hour wait if I remember correctly. I was pretty wasted.
The sushi was really good. I can't believe how good the sushi was for the price. They usually have Uni also but they were all out for the day. They do have Amaebi (sweet shrimp) oyster shooters and more.
We went to town and everything was delicious. This place is totally worth the visit.
After our meal, we headed back to the hotel and when I got out of the car I was a wreck. I found the trash can by the elevators and threw up and called it a night. I was quite disappointed to end the night early and this was the only night where everyone was in Vegas. Some people were going to leave the next morning.

Oh well, tomorrow we head to Area 15, been wanting to check it out ever since I heard of it in 2020.
