Oahu trip: Day 2

Woke up at 7 am. Was still used to pacific time. Hung out on the back patio and had a cup of coffee and enjoyed the view. Perfect way to start the morning.

Jack found a way to crack open the coconut.

Lisa and David were out and about really early in the morning and got us some breakfast from McDonalds.

Love the fried pies they have at McDonalds in Hawaii. Way better than the baked ones.

Found a dinosaur on the beach.

We decided to head to Waikiki to have some drinks and hang out.

Never seen these flavors of Hi-Chew before, maybe they're exclusive to Hawaii. Pineapple and Lilikoi

A nice place to hang out for drinks and to be near the beach is the Beach Bar at Moana Surfrider. Has plenty of shade

and direct access to the beach if you want to be in the sun.

Surfrider Tai

I think this is the Thyme for Mango

Steamed Edamame tossed in hoisin sauce sesame seeds, great warm and salty snack.

Island Style Ahi Poke Nachos, delicious.

Parmesan and truffle fry basket with chili aioli.

Decided to get a chilled shot of Vodka for myself... Yes that is one shot, bottle of water for scale.

Got myself another shot of Vodka and a Vodka Soda for chase.

The girls went to the beach and the rest of the group walked around Waikiki to shop. John and I stayed to drink.

We left the Beach Bar for lunch. They were filming something at the hotel.

For lunch we had Marukame Udon. I don't care for Udon much, but it's very tasty here.

Fresh made noodles.

Assortment of extra stuff you can add to your Udon.

A bunch of fried stuff and rice things.

After lunch Jack, John and I rented mopeds for 3 days from Hawaiian Style Rentals I have rented from them several times. With insurance it was a little under $200. It's a bit pricier than the competitors but we have never had any issues with them. Insurance is $25 a day. Is it recommended? I guess it's up to you, you may want to check with your primary insurance holder and see if they cover your moped rental. We got it for piece of mind. We can drive it into the water and we'd be covered.

I think we got back around 7 pm.

It's my birthday. Time to drink.

We got real liquored up and played Heads Up/Charades.

What a great night. Played until 3 am and then passed out.
