The cafe's desert menu. I really wanted to try the fried ice cream, but we had plan to go eat after coffee and I didn't want to ruin my appetite.
snapixel
snapixel
Alvin on the other hand wanted crepes.
snapixel
Binh works at a sushi restaurant. So he took us to his work to eat and we decided that we wanted to drink also.
snapixel
snapixel
After food we walked around the city for a bit taking in the sights.
snapixel
snapixel
We got hungry again and headed out for food. We were told that Saigon just got a Carl's Jr about 3 months ago and it was a pretty big deal. Burgers still cost the same as in the states. So we decided that we would treat our friend to a burger. It was funny that Carl's Jr would be consider a treat for someone. LOL.

snapixel
After we ate we headed back to our hotel to rest up before we head out for the night. It was Eden's last night here and he was going back home to Hong Kong tomorrow. We hit up another Karaoke bar.
snapixel
Alvin fell in love with this girl. When I asked him why he liked her so much? He told because she takes care of me and feeds me. LOL Alvin's a funny guy.

snapixel
Son was having a good time also.
snapixel
Then some how Alvin ended up with two friends. He is quite the ladies man... in Vietnam at least.
snapixel
snapixel
snapixel
After the Karaoke bar we headed back to Club MZ because Son was sick the night before and he missed out so we thought we would head back so he could check it out.
snapixel
snapixel
snapixel
Our friend Duc on the left and his buddy.

The stairways to Club MZ.
snapixel
After a night of drinking Duc took us to a restaurant for some late night dinning. This place had the best porridge I ever had. I don't know where we were, but this place was so good. We tried to order another bowl, but they sold out.
snapixel
It was a fun night. Was a nice way to end Eden's last day in Vietnam. Tomorrow Eden flies home and we head to Soc Trang to visit some family friends.

Hong Kong & Vietnam Day 10

We originally drove to Nha Trang from Saigon. It was a 10hr drive. We were not going to sit in the car for another 10hr ride back so we decided to buy flights back to Saigon. Economy seats were all sold out so we had to buy business class. It was about $100 not bad for business class at all. Nha Trang is about 270 miles from Saigon.

We woke up to grab breakfast at the the Hotel before we checked out.
snapixel
Eden having a bowl of Pho in the morning.
snapixel
They had quite a spread. They had Vietnamese, Chinese, and American cuisines. I grew up eating sunny side up eggs with pepper, soy sauce, and some toasted bread. It never gets old.
snapixel
snapixel
Some pastries and bread putting to finish off my meal.
snapixel
snapixel
So the driver picked us up and dropped us off at the Nha Trang Airport.
snapixel
snapixel
Business class and access pass to the lounge.
snapixel
Hanging out in the lounge waiting for our flight. The airport is tiny and at the time we were there I think they were only using 1 or 2 terminals.
snapixel
snapixel
snapixel
Some pictures from our take off. Nha Trang is a beautiful place. It was totally worth the visit. I'm glad we drove there from Saigon because it let us see the country side while we were at it. If I ever go back I would opt to fly, but as a first timer I would say take the drive.
snapixel
snapixel
snapixel
The flight was really short. I think like 45mins. We landed and headed to our hotel. Eden's friend that used to work with him in the States Duc had moved to Saigon and Eden had not seen him since he moved there. He booked us a room at A&Em
snapixel
Vincom Center is a mall with some High End stores. When we went they doing a bit of construction so not all the store were open.
snapixel
Our hotel lobby look out into the streets.
snapixel
snapixel
So this bathroom was really interesting. The glass is frosted but you can practically see through it. Two guys sharing a room. Taking a poop or showering is going to be awkward. LOL.
snapixel
After checking in we headed to Pho 2000. We were told that place is pretty good. So we tried it.
snapixel
It was good. This was our first bowl of Pho so I can't say it was the best, but it did hit the spot.
snapixel
After lunch we crashed at our hotel for a bit. Duc met up with us at our hotel and he took us out to a day spa. We spent several hours there just relaxing. I left my camera at the hotel so I don't have any pictures for the rest of today, but after the spa we headed out to a Karaoke bar for some drunk singing. Son was coming down with something so after the Karaoke bar he headed back to the hotel and we headed to Club MZ. It was this really neat bar that had live music. The band was covering American music and they were really good and covering all sorts of American songs that I was into.

That's it for today. Eden only has a few days left in Saigon. He's heading back home a few days before us. So we are going to live it up until then. More to come tomorrow.

Hong Kong & Vietnam Day 9

It's was a beautiful Thursday morning in Nha Trang. Son, Alvin and I woke up early because our driver was going to take us to this beach area where they serve a bunch of seafood. A very nice view to wake up to in the morning.
snapixel

snapixel
snapixel
snapixel
snapixel
Brandon passed out from the previous night of drinking.
snapixel
So the driver picked us up and we headed out on our way.
snapixel
snapixel
On our way we passed by Diamond Bay Resort. They still had a lot of signs and ads up promoting the Miss Universe Pageant 2008. They were all deteriorating, but still up.
snapixel
When we got to this beach area. Which I had no idea where we were at. There were a bunch of man mad shacks/huts selling all kinds of different live seafood. They were just sitting in tubs and tanks there for your picking. We were looking to eat some lobster, but nobody had it available. They had to send out for it.
snapixel
snapixel
snapixel
snapixel
There were a few dogs roaming around, but this guy looked so cute.
snapixel
snapixel
Some crab sitting in a tank.
snapixel
snapixel
This area had a bunch of tables and chairs to just relax have a beer and dine on seafood. It seemed endless. There weren't that many people around.

snapixel
snapixel
We had oysters.
snapixel
snapixel
Clams
snapixel
Not sure what this is, but another shellfish.
snapixel
snapixel
And we had lobster. Of course you get to see everything before you eat. I think we had 3.4kg of lobster I believe.
snapixel
snapixel
Some more clams I think.
snapixel
Shrimp.
snapixel
Fried rice.
snapixel
and the finished Grilled lobster.
snapixel
snapixel
snapixel
We were on overkill with seafood. By the end of it all we didn't want anything to do with seafood for the rest of the trip. Everything was fresh and delicious. I think the total for our bill was $100-$120. I forget, but most of the price was due to the lobster. I think they were $20 each. The nice thing about having the driver with us is he would make sure the prices were decent and that we weren't getting ripped off. He went almost everywhere with us other than drinking at night.

Alvin had enough of seafood.
snapixel
At night we decided to hit the night market near our area.
snapixel
I loved the street food. Eden was afraid of it cause he has had some bad experiences when he was living in Shenzhen. So most of the time we ate at restaurants, but when we did get a chance to eat the street food it was awesome.
snapixel
snapixel
snapixel
snapixel
snapixel
After the night market we just walked around and looked for a restaurant to eat at.Anything that had a nice view of the water.
snapixel
snapixel
snapixel
snapixel
snapixel
snapixel
Eggrolls
snapixel
fried rice and cubed stead. The cube steak was so tender.
snapixel
Fried soft shell crab
snapixel
And some type of chicken dish. We also had catfish in a claypot which was a bit disappointing.
snapixel
snapixel
After dinner we went to get some massages. There were no rooms available so we went to the night club next door for drinks while we waited for rooms to open.
snapixel
This girl took a liking to Eden. He was running away scared. She was really aggressive.
snapixel
We got our one hour massages which were a whopping $7.50 without tip and after that we headed back home. We were heading back to Saigon tomorrow.
snapixel
snapixel
snapixel
A bit uneventful for this day. We did a bit of drinking, but it was relaxing. Tomorrow we head back to Saigon.
