Hawaii 2024 Day 3: Forty Niner Waikiki, Afternoon Tea at Halekulani, Side Street Inn

Friday morning we headed to Forty Niner for breakfast.
Lemon Ricotta Pancake. This were really good.
Veggie Omlette: grilled onions, green onions, shitake mushrooms, and tomatoes.
Ube Waffles
Forty Niner Omlette: charsiu, kamaboko, spam, and green onion.
Forty Niner Breakfast Burrito: fried rice, kalua pig, scrambled eggs, cheese, onions, salsa, sour cream. Pretty good breakfast burrito, but I'm just not a fan of kalua pig.
After breakfast Tammy and I headed back to the condo and relaxed a bit. We had plans to meet up with my brother-in-law for afternoon tea.
Emmalyn is ready for afternoon tea at Halekulani
Pineapple Coconut Rooibos with Mango tea.
Emmilyn's cousins Michael and Michelle.
Champagne with strawberries and cream.
Assorted afternoon tea pastries and cakes.
Array of Tea Sandwiches:
Pastrami and Watercress with grain mustard on poppy seed bread
Strawberry and Brie with Poha jam on brioche bread
Chicken salad with madras curry and peanuts on multi-whole grain bread
Smoked salmon with lemon cream on pumpernickel bread.
Freshly baked currant scones served with double Devonshire cream, lemon curd, and kula strawberry preserve.
After tea, we headed back to the condo and hung out until dinner.

We decided on Side Street Inn. Been coming here for years and their food is always good.
We had a good size group so we did Chef Colin's Classics.

Alae Salt Edamame
Farmer's Salad: fresh spring mix, bay shrimp, grape tomatoes, sweet onions, avocado, & capers house red wine vinaigrette. The salad was really good.
Signature Garlic Chicken: battered boneless chicken deep-fried & dipped in house garlic sauce. The chicken is really good and it's a bit spicy.
Signature Fried Rice: char-siu, Portuguese sausage, bacon, peas, carrots, green onions.
Pan-Fried Pork Chops. I'm pretty particular with pork chops but this was amazing.
Sizzling Boneless Kal bi: char-broiled Korean-style boneless short ribs served over stir-fried Asian greens & kimchee.
Mom's Sweet Bread Pudding: made with Hawaiian sweet bread.
Lilikoi Creme Bruleee.
Everything was delicious and even though we had 5 adults we still took home so many leftovers. After dinner we just chilled at the condo for the remaining night. Tomorrow we're off to the Farmer's Market.
