Trip Report Nassau, Bahamas day 1: SLS, Grand Hyatt Baha Mar.

Before heading to the airport we stopped by to get some dinner before our red eye flight to Nassau, Bahamas.

Our flight ended up getting delayed several hours. We didn't board our flight until 1 am. Our layover was at JFK airport and our connecting flight was also delayed. The food court had these self checkout kiosk which was really convenient.

Originally we were suppose to be in Nassau by 9 am, but didn't get there until 3pm with all the delays.

Baha Mar has been very generous to Phat for his gambling habits.

Phat's host had setup transportation for us from the airport.

Phat wanted to try something different so he requested rooms at the SLS

Upon checking in, all of the double queen rooms at SLS were booked out. So Phat's host moved us back to the Grand Hyatt.

Complimentary snacks at the VIP Lounge.

Also complimentary beer and wine.

Phat ended up with a comped two bedroom suite.

Picked up some duty free bottles at our layover. $31 for 1 liter bottles.

Dropped our stuff off at our room and headed down to the pool to grab something to eat.

They added some new food options this year. Da' Poke Bowl, Slidderrzz, Scoops & Umami Burger

Brisket Sandwich... it was alright.

Jamaican Jerk chicken sandwich. This was okay also.

It was really hot and humid. After we ate we hit the pool.

Around 8pm we headed back to the room to wait for our other friend Chris to arrive. The VIP Lounge had set out some dessert for the evening.

Had a lot to drink the first night and don't really remember much.

Not only did they comp a room for Phat they even reimbursed him up to $300 for his flight.  Vegas doesn't even show him this much love. One of the main reasons he keeps coming back every year. I just tag along for the free stuff. :)

He was down a bit the beginning of the trip but found a hot shooter and made a comeback. Let's see if he can hold onto it.

He gifted himself for the win. I guess you can say the house paid for it.

I'm just happy winning 200 bucks.

We had some late night eats at The Swimming Pig.

My coworker was in the Bahamas a few weeks ago and she mentioned that we should try Sky Juice. Sky Juice is a Bahamian drink made up of alcohol, coconut water, coconut milk, condensed milk, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Never heard anyone mention Sky Juice, so we tried it. It was okay. I'm not a fan of creamy alcoholic drinks.

That ends our first night.
