Trip Report - Denver, CO (Day 2): 16th Street Mall & Red Rock Amphitheater

Woke up and was feeling a lot better than the night before.

Balcony in the master bedroom.

Back yard

Our rental home also had a rooftop area.

After everyone woke up we headed out to lunch at Corner Ramen

Pork Gyoza $6

Pork Belly Bun $8. Pretty good.

Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen: pork broth, pork belly, beans sprout, poached egg, spinach.,$13. It was alright.

Creamy Spicy Ramen: chicken broth, chicken, corn, poached egg, bean sprouts.

Tonkatsu Ramen: pork broth, pork belly, corn, poached egg, spinach

Shoyu Ramen: chicken broth, pork belly, corn, poached egg, spinach.

After lunch we headed to 16th Street Mall. Since this was my first visit to Denver, I just looked up top things to do in Denver and 16th Street Mall was one of them.

There are free mall rides constantly running through 16th Street. Unsure how far they go or where it ends, but you just hope on and off as needed.

Stopped by Caribou Coffee for some caffeine.

Got the cold press iced coffee. Pretty much cold brew with salted creme.

16th Street Mall has your typical shops and souvenir stores. In the middle of 16th street there are a few food stalls.

Ice Cream Nation. Linh said it was okay. Nothing spectacular about it. They make the ice cream in front of you on a cold plate and roll it.

Walked around a bit and did some shopping and ended up at FTW Denver for some arcades.

Outrun 2 racing game. This game was awesome and worth the cost. You race through 6 check points and the race takes a while. There are two sets of controls per vehicle. I was told by the staff there that you can switch drivers during the game. So two people could take turns racing the same car.

If you're not first you're last.

Tried this destruction derby type racing game. I didn't like this game that much.

Mario Kart.

They take a picture of you for your avatar.

First place!

Amanda wanted to try out the photo booth.

Amanda decided on the Hip Hop Artist theme. I didn't realize it, but Don actually took his wallet out for the Money shot. LOL

The Money shot. Don got cut off.

As you can tell we didn't know what we were doing until the last theme.

After shopping we headed back to the house to hang out for a bit.

I'm kind of neat freak. My buddy got me a set of Voyager packing packing cubes. Which are amazing if you like to keep things organized. Comes with a few packing cubes and bags for your shoes and whatnot.

We got tickets to see Black Panther at the Red Rock Amphitheater. Another thing on the list to do in Denver.

Stopped by McDonalds to grab some food before the movie. Got some fries to share..Tammy ate it all. WTF

It was a Monday evening. Film on the Rocks starts at 7 pm. There's a band and the movie starts at dusk. They said that you can bring food there. I didn't think it was a big thing so we headed out at 5:30 pm. This is the line just to get to the parking lot.

I had no idea it was this crazy. If I had known I would have arrived a lot earlier.

Took about 30-40 minutes just to park. Then we had a 1/2 mile uphill walk to get to the Amphitheater. I actually mapped the distance from our car to the entrance.

Took probably about 15-20 minutes to finally reach security. Only to find out that they don't allow cameras with detachable lenses. Seriously I'm not trying to film a bootleg version of Black Panther. To make matters worse, there were no lockers and no place that I could check my camera in. I had to walk back down 1/2 to put the camera in the car. FML

Event was sold out. Tickets were $15.

The venue is gorgeous though and the sound is amazing.

We ended up leaving halfway through the movie to beat the traffic out.

Went back to the house and just hung out for the rest of the night.

Tomorrow we head to the Denver Museum of Nature & Science
