Hawaii 2024 Day 1: Rainbow Drive-In; Ramen Ono-Ya

Emmalyn did really well on the Disneyland flight, so we took her to Hawaii for a week. Packing and traveling with kids for a long trip is hard, especially with all the stuff you need to bring. Luckily Tammy bought a foldable dolly which made it so much easier for us to handle all the stuff. We had two check-in luggage, pack-n-play, carry-on luggage, three backpacks, a stroller, and a car seat.
We arrived at the airport several hours early just to make sure we had ample time to do what we needed to. After getting thru the security check we headed to the lounge to relax.

We ordered Wild Turkey 101 but they gave us JD instead.
The flight to Hawaii was almost full. We were lucky to end up with an empty middle seat thanks to the flight attendant as she was directing people away from us.
The view from our room.
Thomas' first time to Hawaii.
We checked in, dropped off our luggage, and headed out to Rainbow Drive-In for our first meal.
It's best to order your food to-go because it's a lot of food and you're very likely to take leftovers.

Boneless Chicken with Gravy plate added two eggs. This is delicious as always.
Daily Special: Shoyu Chicken plate my wife really liked this.
Pork Cutlet with Gravy plate.
BBQ Beef Plate
Loco Moco Plate
After our meal, we headed down the street to Safeway to stock up on supplies.
We tried to put Emmalyn down for a nap but she wasn't working.
Good thing we had our unofficial nanny on hand to put Emmalyn down.
We hung out at the Airbnb for the evening. The wives went to bed with the kids so the guys went out for dinner.

I've been to Oahu many times so I'm always trying to find new places to eat. We decided to try Ramen Ono-Ya
I believe this was their spicy popcorn chicken special appetizer for the day. It was pretty good. Their service was super fast.
Tonkatsu Tan Tan Men
Tonkatsu Spicy
Tonkatsu Black
The ramen was good, but not great. We headed back to the Airbnb and hung out for the rest of the night. Tomorrow we head to North Shore.
