Trip Report Puerto Vallarta day 1: Krystal Puerto Vallarta All Inclusive, Malecon Boardwalk, & Pancho's Takos

My girlfriend packed me a care package for our bro-cation. Got some drink tickets for our flight. Mosquito repellant bracelets, EmergenC, and liquid IV. I'm ready, let's go!

Had a quick layover at LAX

Breakfast burger. Tasted just as good as it looks.
Killed the rest of our layover time with some alcohol.
I had some more drinks on the flight. They couldn't give us fresh limes because we were flying internationally. So instead they gave us lime powder.
Phillip brought his Nintendo Switch. Man, I need to get myself one.
Some of the fellas were tired.

Puerto Vallarta we have arrived!

We were waiting for our friend Jason to arrive. His flight was delayed a bit. So we had drinks at the bar.

There was Wifi at the airport. So we used that to call an Uber to take us to our hotel. Krystal Puerto Vallarta. It cost about 60 pesos to get us there. Which is about 3 bucks.

I was rooming with my brother Phillip. The room was really nice and clean.
For a standard room, the bathroom was really impressive.
We booked a standard garden view room. Our building was located furthest from the beach, but the view was really nice. Some of the guys upgraded their rooms to the oceanfront, but from what I heard, our room had better air conditioning.

The Wifi at the hotel was pretty decent. We had a group chat going so that the group can coordinate. After we all settled in. We met up at the buffet.
The food was very mediocre.
Frosted flakes. The best thing I had at the buffet.
We were planning to hang out at the pool, but it was almost 8 pm and the pool was closing. So we decided we'd get ready and meet in the lobby for some drinks before we head out to town. There's a nice little convenience store located on the hotel grounds.

There were 11 of us, so we took a large van to Malecon Boardwalk. The van cost us 300 pesos for our group, which was about 15 bucks.
The boardwalk is huge. Over a mile long of shops, bars, and clubs. There are also a lot of art installations along the way.

It was packed at the Boardwalk. They had a lot of things going on.

There were also a bunch of vendors.

We pretty much just bar hopped along. The majority of the group it was our first visit to Puerto Vallarta.

A bunch of food stalls for your snacking needs.

Shrimp on a stick.
Fried hotdogs and pigs in a blanket.
Elote

Fried bananas
Strawberries and cream.
I think this is a quesadilla.
This bag is made entirely for aluminum can tabs.
Jharvis wanted a hat and found this guy hand making some. So he bought one. I think it was 200 pesos.
Another bar and another round of drinks.

10 pesos for popcorn.

We eventually hit the end and wandered off the boardwalk and explored.
We were attracted to this bar like bugs to a light. Margarita Grill

I'm not a fan of Tequila but had myself a Watermelon Margarita. It was delicious and so refreshing for such a humid night.

We got hungry so Phat suggested that we check out Pancho's Takos.
The line was long, but Phat said this was short compared to his previous visits to this place.
Julio having a drink while he's waiting.

My favorite taco filling is Al Pastor. OMG, I am ready for this meal!
While we were waiting in line, Peter wandered off and found a bar nearby that was selling alcohol and you can take it to go.

So we stocked up on supplies since it was going to be a long wait.

The first plate hit the table and was devoured in minutes.
After having Al Pastor in Puerto Vallarta it has ruined it for me back at home. It will never be the same and I crave this now.

It was a bit too hot for Mr. Hawaii. Brandon had to get up and walk around to cool off.

After dinner, some of the guys took a taxi back to the hotel while the rest of us wanted to walk our way back to the boardwalk and continue our bar hopping.
I guess in Puerto Vallarta you can just walk around and drink in public.

On our or night of bar hopping, we met a stray doggo.

She followed us as we were bar-hopping, but never stepped foot into the establishment. Such a friendly girl.
Ended up closing out the bars. So we grabbed a taxi back to our hotel and called it a night.

Tomorrow we continue our binge drinking and eating.
