Las Vegas Fil's dirty 30: The Golden Tiki, Udon Monzo

We skipped Vegas for Superbowl this year so that we can celebrate Phillip's dirty thirty the week after.

This is the first year that Cosmopolitan didn't offer me complimentary rooms. So for the first time in years I had to pay for a room... :( well.. sort of. Ended up booking a room at Planet Hollywood but I booked with the Total Rewards website cause I had a players card and ended up getting one day comped.

PH allows you to check in using the Total Rewards app which is very convenient. They also have kiosk machines so you can check in and get your room key without going to the concierge. Quite convenient and fast.

They have a dog park!

Our room wasn't ready so we dropped off our bags and headed to Cosmopolitan cause the rest of the group had complimentary rooms there.

Phat lost his limo service cause he hasn't been racking up enough points with his host, but he still gets the wrap around terrace though.

We tried getting lunch at Rollin Smoke Barbeque but they were closed so we headed to Chinatown since we already ventured off the strip.

Every time we go to Chinatown I always see The Golden Tiki. It always stood out cause there's nothing but Asian restaurants and markets around and this Tiki Bar just looked out of place.

We were having lunch nearby at Udon Monzo

I have always wanted to visit The Golden Tiki so after we placed our food order a few of us headed to The Golden Tiki to check it out.

When you open the door the speaker starts talking.

Upon entering you hear the Pirates of the Caribbean theme song and a few Disney hidden gems. I'm a big fan of Disney so this bar was already a delight for me.

The interior was very well themed and a lot of details went into the decor.

Did a quick look around and had a round of shots. The bartender was very nice. The Golden Tiki is open 24/7. It never closes. We told the bartender that we were in town for a birthday. She told us to have lunch and bring the birthday boy back and she would get him a drink.

Takoyaki

Pork Belly bowl, heard it was pretty bland.

Ikura bowl.

Uni Cream Udon. This was good and very rich tasting.

Miso Carbonara Udon, another very rich and tasty dish.

Tempura fried soft boil egg.

After lunch we headed back to The Golden Tiki for some more drinks.

Rub for good luck lol.

Pain Killer: Pusser's Rum, Dole Pineapple Whip (yup! they have dole whip here), fresh orange, pineapple and coconut cream, topped with fresh nutmeg. This drink was delicious.

Elephant Trunk from Disneyland's Jungle Cruise.

We ordered quite a few rounds of drinks and when it was time to pay the bill. The bartender comped our entire bill for Phillip's birthday, except for the souvenir cups we purchased, but how awesome is that!?

By the time we got back our room at PH was ready. PH recently remodeled their rooms.

The remodeled rooms are very nice and for the price it was a steal.

Headed back to Cosmo to do a bit of gambling.

Pretty much gambled and drank for the rest of the night. I was not having any luck at all on the frist night. I'm hopping I can get my comps back.

The ends day 1.
