Las Vegas Superbowl LIV day 2: Hash House A Go Go, Bazaar Meat, Tacos El Gordo, Milk Bar

We got up around 8 am which is kind of ridiculously early for me when I'm on vacation.

Since we were up early we decided to go get breakfast. I had searched the web for top things or places to eat. So I had bookmarked Hash House A Go Go. There are several locations. We went to the closest one to us which was located in The Linq hotel & casino.

It was a 13-minute walk so I said why not?.

It was really cold and windy. I totally regret not taking a taxi there.

The Flamingo connects to The Linq so we walked through just to get out of the cold.

Sticky Chicken food truck located inside The Linq.

It was pretty packed, but the wait time was only 20-30 mins which wasn't that bad at all.

Irish coffee to start off the morning.

Banana latte. Tammy said she liked it.

Meatloaf hash

Hash House Famous Fried Chicken Benedict. mashed potatoes, biscuits, spinach, tomatoes, fried chicken, spicy sauce. This was really good. Portions are huge. Easily can feed two people.

I think this is the Farm Scramble.

After breakfast took a rideshare back to our hotel.

Tammy wanted to look at the PH souvenir shop. I told her to try on this hat. She didn't know what was on the hat.

The rest of the group was in Phat's room eating and drinking what was left over from the game.

Since Cosmopolitan has been stingy on their comps, Phat wanted to gamble at Caesars Palace since they have been so generous with comps. It looks like we won't be staying at Cosmo in the future anymore.

We got a self-driving Lyft vehicle. There was still a person in the driver and passenger seat. They have to manually drive the vehicle when they're on private property. The vehicle drove itself only on the main roads. Still neat to see the technology.

Viet's been wanting to learn how to play craps. So I showed him how to play and on his first time rolling the dice he was able to achieve hot shooter status.

Some of us headed back a bit early because we had dinner reservations. We headed back to Jack's room so that he could change.

Another top eats that I bookmarked was Bazaar Meat by Jose Andres located in the Sahara Hotel &  Casino.

Super-Giant Pork-Skin Chicharron: greek yogurt, za'atar spices. This came out in a huge single sheet and the server cracked it for us. It's so good. The greek yogurt was so light and airy.

The main reason I wanted to eat at Bazaar Meat was to try the Cotton Candy Foie Gras:
Crispy amaranth. This did not disappoint. I need more of this.

Fresh Oysters served with house-made cocktail sauce, strawberry & pineapple vinegar, and house-made hot sauce.

Uni bread: fresh uni, toasted bread, lardo. Another great dish.

Suckling Pig quarter: nested in a Spanish cazuela and roasted in a wood-fired oven with a bit of salt. They brought it out to show us before they cut it up and deboned it.

Grilled Asparagus: romesco sauce. This didn't stand out as much. I would pass on this next time.

Chateaubriand, Tenderloin, Holstein: Brandt Beef, CA, Perigord sauce, pomme souffle. Whenever this in on the menu I always order it. It's tender and delicious. I still miss this dish ever since they changed the menu at Club 33.

Papas Canarias: salty wrinkled potatoes, mojo verde, mojo rojo. This was just too salty for me. I would skip this.

Pomme Souffle that came with the Chateaubriand. These are great they're like puffy chips.

Buttered Potato Puree: butter, butter, more butter, some potatoes. The best mashed potatoes I have had yet. The potatoes don't even stick to the bowl when you scoop it out.

Brussels Sprouts Petals: apricots, grapes, lemon air, lemon puree. These were okay. Our server did tell us that this dish would be served cold and it's different from brussels sprouts dish that we were used to. I still prefer crispy pan-fried brussels sprouts.

Suckling pig deboned. The skin was crispy and the meat was super tender.

We didn't order dessert cause we were stuffed. All said and done the bill was just a tad over five hundred for the 4 of us. I was actually expecting it to be more expensive. I would go back again.

Located nearby us was Tacos El Gordo. Ever since I went to Puerto Vallarta and had the best Al Pastor Tacos at Poncho's Takos, I have been told that Tacos El Gordo makes a good Al Pastor Taco. So we stopped by to get some to-go for some late-night eats.

We went back to Cosmo to gamble some more and again I wasn't winning anything on the slots. Played a little electronic craps made some money back and walked away. Head up to Jack's room to hang out and eat tacos.

Compared to Pancho's it was no contest Pancho's hands down better, but it's not a fair assessment since I didn't eat them fresh. It sat for over an hour before I ate them. It was still warm. I'll have to try them again when it's fresh.

We stopped by Milk Bar again for dessert. This time I got Cereal Milk soft-serve with cornflakes. I think it's better than the shake. The shake was good, but near the end of the shake, it gets a bit foamy. Soft serve is the way to go.

Fruity Cereal Milk Shake.

That's it for day 2.

Tomorrow it's more food & then we head home.
