We booked the first flight to Las Vegas with Southwest at 6:40 am. When we got to the airport around 5am we got a notification that our flight was delayed until noon. Over a 5-hour delay. So we headed to the lounge.
We were having food and drinks and I guess we were too loud and someone complained. So they moved us to the VIP conference room. Which was nice cause there was a T.V.
We drank some more took a nap and headed back to our gate around 11:30am. When we got to the gate the staff informed us that there was another 3 hr delay. We were furious. We headed back to the lounge to see if we can get the conference room again and after hanging out for 30 mins or so. We checked our flight status and it informed us to see an attendant. So we headed back to our gate and the attendant informed us that our plane had just left and that they were trying to call us. We told them we went back to the lounge because of the 3hr delay. They tried to blame us for going too far from the gate when they were looking for us. I asked them why would I sit at the gate for another 3hrs also why didn't they text, call, or send a notification that we were boarding? They didn't have an answer cause they obviously fucked up. The remaining flights were pretty much booked out. The next available flight that they could get us on was not until 6:45 pm and it was a connecting flight. The attendant reassured us that we didn't have to switch planes and that it would be a quick stop at Long Beach. So we changed our flights cause we had no choice and headed home to sleep cause we were so tired. We got on our flight landed in Long Beach and guess what? we had to get off the plane and board another one. Another great job by Southwest.
13 long hours later we finally arrived in Vegas.
Headed to our friend Joe's room at Hilton. We pounded a few shots and headed off to Nacho Daddy to grab some food.
Golden Knights Nacho: marinated filet mignon, cheddar & jack cheese, yellow queso, sauteed onions, mushrooms, red & green peppers & pickled peppers over house-made corn chips.
I thought it was okay. Kinda tasted like Philly cheesesteak on chips.
We headed over to Palazzo to meet up with the rest of the group.
The group had migrated to Casino Royale next door. So we headed there.
Met up with everyone for dinner at White Castle.
After dinner, we gambled a bit at Casino Royale. They have cheap drinks and food. New players get $20 slot credit and you get an additional $20 slot credit for every $100 slot loss. Sounds good right? It sure does but the slots are not generous whatsoever. Check out Viets big slot bonus win.
Lobster roll for $13.99 with fries and a drink.
We made our way back to Palazzo to gamble some more.
Eventually, people headed off to bed and we made our way back to the Hilton and drank some more until 5 in the morning.
That ends day 1. Not much of a day thanks to Southwest.
Tomorrow the rest of the group arrives.
