14th Annual Halloween trip day 2: Disneyland & DCA

We parked at the Mickey and Friends parking structure. It's $25 for parking and $40 for preferred parking. We opted for preferred but honestly save yourself the money and just pay for regular. The shuttle currently isn't running probably because of the pandemic and you have to walk to the park from the structure and both garages get you to the same area. We paid for regular parking our first day and did preferred parking the second day.

We started our day at DCA since we spent the whole day in Disneyland yesterday.
While we were walking to the park I placed a mobile order for some drinks at the Hollywood Lounge.

Orange Cream Fanta-sy: Fanta orange infused with vanilla, topped with whipped cream and black sprinkles.  This was for Anna, but the kids saw the whipped cream and were all over it.

PBJ & W: PB & raspberry jam hard cider with peanut butter whiskey.
It was okay, I couldn't taste the peanut butter whiskey.

Fanta Spooky Spirit: Fanta pina colada with white rum and melon liqueur.
Tammy really liked it. It was light and easy to drink.
Howl-O-Ween Concoction: pineapple michelada mix with white tequila, pineapple, and chamoy topped with spicy candy.

John said it was good.
I woke up at 7am trying to get a boarding for the ride, but the app crashed and I couldn't log in until 7:02am so all the boarding groups were gone.
While we stopped for drinks I tried to get a noon boarding group for Rise of the Resistance again, but couldn't get one, but was lucky enough to switch to Web-Slinger and got a boarding group.

Anna was Jaylyn's unofficial nanny for the day.
We got the chicken shawarma. Wished they had more tomatoes and onions in it, but it was very tasty. I'd buy it again.
Wakandans
Captain Marvel
I'm pretty sure this is another character meet and greet area.
Lamplight Lounge was not open for sit-down dining, but the bar was open for drink orders.
Left: zombie
Right: Funwheel
Pixar Pier Frosty Parfait. So good especially on a hot day.
Hopped on Midway Mania.
Jaylyn won a star La Luna Star Catcher at the Pixar Pier games.
Made another stop for drinks at Bayside Brews.

Left: Ace Pineapple Hard Cider
Right: Michelada Pacifico
Also got the Jalapeno Cheese-filled Pretzel
Jayceon fell asleep while eating chips.
We made our way back to Disneyland to look for some more snacks.
They would have single floats randomly appear throughout the day.
We stopped by the Plaza Inn to try their fried chicken. I haven't had it in years, but every time I look online for must-eat foods in the park the fried chicken is always mentioned.
Once again I forgot to snap a pic, so here's a pic of the aftermath. The fried chicken is good, but not something I would go out of my way to get again, unlike the corndog.
We headed to Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante to get a Blended Horchata, but sadly the dessert station that it's normally served at wasn't open.
Then we made our way to Galactic Grill to get the secret menu item Galactic Burger (aka Alien Style) but after waiting in line and speaking to the cast member they have not brought that back since the park's closure and are unsure if they will bring it back. I was really looking forward to it since I had it for the first time in 2019. Think an In & Out style burger w/o the produce stacked with fries, grilled onion, and thousand island dressing in the burger.
While we deciding what to do next we started to hear thunder and it started to lightly drizzle. We tried to hop on the train, but it was closed temporarily. After speaking to a cast member during thunder & lightning storms they will shut down all outdoor rides as a safety precaution. They said there are only 7 indoor rides in Disneyland.

So we headed to Toon Town so the kids could play.
Eventually, the rides started to run again so we hopped on the train.
Some of us got off at New Orleans to get a mint julep and beignets from the Mint Julep Bar.
Strawberry Mint Julep and seasonal Beignet. This was topped with strawberry chocolate powdered sugar.
Our other friends had to ride the train back to Toon Town so they can grab the stroller.
We decided to spend the rest of our time at DCA since we still had to wait for our Web-Slinger boarding group.
On our way out to the gates, the wife and I went to get our fortune for the day. Every time we see one of these machines we always get one.
Made a stop at Gibson Girl Ice Cream so I can finally get a Fanta Float.
Orange Fanta w/ rainbow sherbert.
We tried riding Radiator Springs Racer, but it was temporarily closed.
So ended up at Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop for a Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate.
While we were waiting for our boarding group to be called we got some more drinks.
The sky was not looking so pleasant.
We finally got our boarding group called around 8:40 pm.
On our walk to Web-Slinger, there was thunder and lightning.

all of a sudden it started to hail

It was quite an experience to be in the park when it was hailing.

Web-Slinger was an awesome ride. My arms were pumped it was like I just finished a workout.
When we exited the ride it was pouring, the stroller was soaked. We decided to call it a day and left the park earlier than expected.

We went back to our Airbnb dried off and ordered dinner for delivery.

That ends day 2. Tomorrow we have a free day so we're going to explore some restaurants and probably find a cocktail bar somewhere.
