We headed to North Shore to have breakfast at Giovanni's Shrimp Truck.
There was a pretty long line for a weekday, but I have seen worse.
There are many other food trucks in the area serving all kinds of food.
Mack's Handcrafted Sode and Pops were handing our free samples and we got hooked on their watermelon mojito slush.
It's been a while since I've eaten Giovanni's, but it's still good. Last time I was in Oahu I decided not to go to North Shore and tried finding a shrimp scampi spot in Waikiki and ended up trying Sam's Kitchen because it had good reviews, but it did not meet my expectation.
After lunch, we went to Lanikai Beach. It's a really nice beach and the sand here is so fine. Plus it's a lot less busy than Waikiki.
I love the view when exiting the tunnel.
There are trees on the beach to offer shade.
Hawaiian Beachwear & Fashion has really cheap deals on Aloha shirts. Two for $30.
Hung out at Lanikai Beach for a while then headed out for lunch. We wanted to stop by The Pig and the Lady but they were closed between 3-5:30p. So we ended up at Da Buttah Lobstah which is located in Jolene's Market.
Alaskan Uni not really available today but actually only on select Fridays and Weekends. We were bummed it wasn't available.
Chowdah Fries: waffle fries, cheese, bacon, chowder, green onions.
Lobster grilled cheese with tomato bisque or fries $16. It's really good and served on thick crustless bread.
Lobster Roll & Fries $16.50.
The Lobster Roll was a hybrid of your typical lobster roll and a Vietnamese sandwich. It had pickled veggies and cilantro. I really liked it. I would come back again for it.
On our way back home we stopped by Don Quijote to do a bit of souvenir shopping. I'd recommend you stop here because they have a lot of stuff and it's pretty cheap. If you're looking for all those things you usually find at the ABC Store but for cheaper this is the place. I've never heard of this place, but glad Jensen suggested it.
Viet has been wanting to try Leonard's Bakery so we dropped by so that he could get some Malasadas.
Rested up back at our rental then headed out for some food and drinks at Hideout located at The LayLow Hotel.
Laylow Hawaiian Style Mai Tai
Slay Rose
Mule
Manchego & Truffle Flatbread: Hamakua Mushroom, Arugula, Portuguese Sausage, chili oil
Kalua Egg Rolls: Kalua pork, island slaw, pineapple jam
Crispy Pork Belly: Brussel sprouts, sweet soy, macadamia nuts.
Edamame: Korean chili, sweet soy, garlic.
They have an open seating area with a fire pit and sand. They also had a solo artist doing cover songs and they were really good too.
After dinner, we headed to Rivals Sports Lounge to play some games and drink.
Rivals have free gaming devices for you to use. We were playing Trivia against each other for money.
We called it a night around 1 am and headed back to sleep.
That ends day five, only two more days left.
