Met up with everyone at the buffet for breakfast. The buffet gets old after a while. Especially since there aren't any other food options for breakfast or lunch.
Phat booked a fishing excursion, so everyone left for that while Tammy and I stayed at the resort. Went to the spa for some relaxation. The spa is a bit pricey compared to Live Aqua Cancun. A 50 minute couples massage was $295, but at Live Aqua it was $150. They did have a special doing on that day for a 60 minute treatment that included a scrub, wrap, & massage for about $92. Which is what we opted for.
We arrived an hour early to use their spa facilities. They had a sauna, steam room, 3 different types of showers, and a pool with a variety jets and whirlpools.
The spa was okay compared to Live Aqua. Live Aqua was cheaper and a way better experience.
Got back to the room to find that our maid made a towel mermaid.
Headed to the pool and lounged around for hours until it was time for dinner. Tammy and I did not have any reservations anywhere, so we asked if they could squeeze us in for the evening. Which they did.
I didn't remember having the tempura appetizer the first time, but it was delicious. The tempura batter was okay, but the glaze is very good.
Philly roll.
Coffee jelly with ice cream.
They guys didn't have that much luck fishing, but the groom caught a Barracuda that they prepared for them after the trip. Was about to head to the sport bar for our last night when I heard someone playing the violin. Ended up sitting in the lounge and listening to him play. I wish I could have caught his entire set. His name is Carlos Molnar and he has a youtube channel.
Met up with Peter and Steven at the sports bar for one more drink before calling it a night. That ends day 4.
Woke up, packed our things, and checked out of our room. Had about an hour to burn before our airport transportation arrived.
Had a late lunch at Cancun Airport.
Our connection was at Los Angeles and saw this fire raging as we were descending.
That ends the trip. Surprisingly had good weather in Cancun during hurricane season.
Where to next? It's time for our annual Halloween trip to SoCal.
