It's Alvin's last full day in Vietnam. He heads back home tomorrow afternoon. We met up with my friend's aunt. She was taking us souvenir at Ben Thanh Market.
We did a bit of souvenir shopping for friends and family back home. I was told the dried squid is really good in Vietnam so Son and I picked some up.
After shopping we stopped for some food at Ben Thanh. I saw Banh Cuon Nhan This (steamed rice flour crepes filled with a ground pork and wood ear mushroom filling) It was great.
Delicious.. is all I can say. I think we paid $2 for it.
After the market we met up with some friends and we walked around some street markets and did some shopping.
Then we stopped for some more food.
Yeah! more coconut.
We went to another broken rice place. It was good, but not as good as the street food cart from the other day.
After eating we walked over to the mall (Vincom) to get some more cash. I forgot to mention that if you're bringing cash the best place to exchange is at jewelry stores. They give you the best rate and if you're bringing U.S dollars it's best to bring $100 dollar bills. You get a better exchange rate than the lower denominations.
I just happened to see this jumbled up mess they call wiring. So I snapped a picture.
We stopped for some dessert also.
The vast menu of goodies this place had to offer.
Cheesecake with strawberry ice cream. The strawberry ice cream was really good. It was so fully of flavor. It was like eating fresh strawberries. I have never had anything like it in the states.
We walked back to the hotel and rested for the rest of the day to get ready for the night. It was Alvin's last night and so we didn't want that to go to waste.
The library.
At the corner of the block by our hotel Son and I sat down for some coffee.
After coffee we napped for a bit and then had a light dinner at our hotel. We were waiting for Duc to meet up with us.
Back to Club MZ for us. We kept going back because we would buy bottles and not finish them so they would hold them for us. So we had to go back and finish it. Didn't want it to go to waste.
Alvin up to his same old shenanigans.
Brandon's drunk walk out of club MZ
We went to eat right after the club. Alvin was pretty wasted.
More porridge.
Alvin ended up having too much to drink that night.
but he mustered up the strength to take a picture.
Not much had gone on this day. Most of us were all partied out and were ready to head home. I have never been away from home for so long. I had never missed home so much. Alvin leaves tomorrow and that leave just Son, Brandon and myself for one more day. We ended leaving 1 1/4 bottles at Club MZ so we will be back there tomorrow again.
