Portland Day 4

Checked out of our house rental and headed to Gravy for breakfast. John wanted country fried steak.

We were waiting for a few other to show up before they would seat us. So Jack and I headed to Blue Star down the street to get some donuts.

John's nephew wanted to show us his karate moves.

Irish Coffee.

Typically they would use tenderized cube steak for a Country Fried Steak recipe, but at Gravy they use flat iron steak. So it was more of a thick steak with batter than your typical thin country fried steak. Even though it was good, I prefer the traditional way. Their hash browns were amazing and extra crispy on the edges.

After breakfast we walked around and did a little shopping.

Headed back to the mall to look for souvenirs.

We headed back to see John's parents before we headed home.

It was colder than I expected in Portland and the rain didn't help either.

That ends this trip.

Where to next? Maui and Oahu is next on the list. Stay tuned.

Portland Day 3

On our third we thought we should do something, so we headed to downtown.

Went to the mall and on the top floor is Punch Bowl Social it's a place that has food, drinks, bowling, darts, shuffle board, and a bunch of other games.

Chips & Dip: Kettle chips with charred onion creme fraiche.

Lil Street Tacos: Cocoa dusted pork carnitas, salsa adobo, crema, radish, queso cotija, yellow onion, lime, cilantro

It's Nacho Mama's: corn tortilla chips, queso fundido, roasted cauliflower, fresh jalapeno, pickled red onion, jalapeno crema, cilantro

Jack and I had to take a shot for loosing to John and Phil at Foosball.

After Punch Bowl we walked over to Ground Kontrol Classic Arcade

Pretty much an arcade with a few old school arcades, but they serve alcohol after 5 pm.

Never seen this game before, but it's the world's only 10 player game. 5 vs 5.

Had no idea how to play it, but still won.

Had a few drinks then we headed out for dinner.

We headed to John's family restaurant in Portland.

The restaurant is a waterfront property and there were boats with lights sailing around.

After dinner we headed back to the house to drink what we had left. Went to the Tonalli's Donut's & Cream across the street. Never seen a crumb old fashion before.

Pretty much hung out the house for the rest of the night. Part of the group already left home already and only a few of us stayed back for one more night.

That ends day 3
