Woke up close to 8 am and started to pack and clean up. I was the first one up. Slowly everyone else started to wake up. The mess we left from the night before.
Closing procedures are pretty simple for this vacation rental. Pull all the dirty linens and place them in the baskets provided.
Jack and Peter pulling the bed sheets with Nicole still sleeping.
Nicole finally woke up and brushing her teeth on our linen pile.
We cleaned out the fridge and threw out all the open food containers and trash. This is what we left behind. Hopefully it'll be a nice little gift for the next renters.
Check out time was at 10 am. We headed off to Waiola for some more shace ice.
Cherry & Coke shave ice.
For lunch we headed to Marukame Udon I don't care for Udon, but Linh raves about this place and so do the yelp reviews. We tried going here last night for dinner but the line was too long so we came back in the morning. Still a line, but not too bad. We probably waited about 20 minutes.
They have a very interesting service concept. It's like an assembly line.
You order your main dish.
Then you arrive at a open "sides bar" where you can grab whatever you like Tempura Shrimp, Inari, Tempura Soft Boiled Egg, etc.... They charge per item.
On the right is the Garlic Chicken Salad Udon.
The Tempura Soft Boiled Egg is a hit or miss. I was lucky and got a soft one, other people got a solid yolk instead.
The Udon is amazing here. I had the curry Udon which Linh said was his favorite, but my favorite was the Garlic Chicken Salad Udon. The sauce is really good. Do keep in mind that this is a turn and burn type of place. There is no AC in the restaurant, so you won't be sitting and lounging around. The biggest table accommodates about 4 people and it's first come seating. You can't walk in and save seats. You can only sit if you already have your food. You're literally coming to this restaurant to eat and to leave. It's not a place to hang out.
After Udon it was time to head to the airport.
Our flight was slightly delayed, but not enough time for us to do more stuff. We were just delaying the inevitable.
Ashley was sad to leave Hawaii.
Fell asleep for about two hours and woke up a bit hungry. Nicole got me a crackers and cheese snack pack.
Went back to sleep for the rest of the flight. Finally got back home and back to reality.
6 nights and 7 days was nowhere near enough for this trip. It seemed so short. Next time we plan on staying for 10 days. Great trip overall just wished we had more time, but at least we have our 8th Annual Halloween trip to look forward to next.

Aloha POLO Day 6
It's our last full day in Oahu. This morning we woke up and went paddle boarding. Rented the boards for 4 hours for $25 bucks each. It's a lot harder than I expected. We ended up paddle boarding for only 2 hours.
Sitting on the board and paddling is easy, but standing is totally a different story. We rented our boards from Hawaiian Surf Adventures which was located near our vacation rental. We were paddle boarding in the calm waters by our house and it was still hard to stand up. I can only image how much harder it is near the waves.
Princess Robyn and her servant cruising through.
After 2 hours of paddle boarding we headed back to Waikiki for Ramen at Ramen Nakamura I had been to this place years ago. It was ok. I still think Tenkaippin is better, but Nakamura does allow you to bring in your own liquor. So Peter went next door and got some drinks for us. I wasn't full recovered from the other day, so I was easing into it.
Ox tail ramen.
Fried rice and pot stickers.
After ramen we did a bit of shopping and bar hopping. Our first stop for drinks was at Jimmy Buffet's At the Beachcomber
Did a bit of souvenir shopping at the ABC stores and then we headed back to The Beach Bar
We pretty much stayed on the beach and bar hopped along the waters. It was our last night in Oahu. Couldn't let it go to waste.
Eventually we got hungry and we headed home to eat.
Linh cooking up some ribs for the night.
The final meal for the night. Can't believe this was our last night in Oahu already. It flies by so quickly.
