Hollywood day 2

Woke up the next morning and headed out to Roscoe's House of Chicken and Waffles.
After Roscoe's we headed to the Fairfax area and check out some boutiques. Flight Club, Supreme, and Huf. While we were there saw this bakery.
After the boutiques. We went to get measured for some suits. Headed back to the hotel after that and waiting for our friends from LA to meet up at our hotel.

Alvin suggested that we head to Cole's to try their French Dip. While we were at Cole's found out that they had a back room that was a speakeasy. It looked like a normal door to a closet or something. It had a small sign on it. You couldn't hear the crowd in there until you opened the door. It was really inconspicuous.
Pork French Dip w/ Cheddar
After eating we headed into the Speakeasy to check it out.
Our drinks were taking unusually  long so they gave us a round of Rye Whiskey shots.
We got 6 random drinks. So that we could all get a taste of it. The drink in the front left was a hot totti. It was really good. Tasted like hot lemon tea.
After a round of drinks at the Speakeasy. Alvin took us to the roof top lounge at The Standard Hotel.
gorgeous views and a very relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. They had a bunch of beds and sofa chairs everywhere.
We stayed till closing. Head back to our hotel. Grabbed some more snacks from the front desk and hung out with everyone. I think we called it a night around 3am.

Woke up the next morning, checked out, and headed south towards Irvine. We had heard a lot about the Korean Taco trucks. So we tracked one down on twitter and tried it out.

The taco was good, the burrito was ok. It was something to try once. I don't think I would be craving for this like I crave Roscoe's.
After the food. We returned the car and headed out for some beef jerky and coffee. Then it was time to head home.

Hollywood day 1

Our flight ended up getting cancelled. So we were pushed to the next outgoing flight. We had to wait an additional 3 hrs. What a way to start our trip. We arrived in Orange County around 3:30pm.
After our friend picked us up. We headed out to grab some food.
We decided on some Korean food. Kimchee fried rice w/ egg
Picked up the car and we headed to Hollywood to check into our room. We were staying at the Magic Castle Hotel. It was a really neat hotel. It use to be apartments, but has now been converted to a boutique hotel. It reminds me of Melrose place.
When we checked in they gave us a glass of Champagne. They offer free snacks 24hrs. Here is the list. Everything is free and all you can eat or want.
also they have a collection of DVDs that you can have access to whenever you want. A free breakfast is available from 7-10am.
The turn down service informs you of tomorrows weather.
Here is our first run of snacks and not our last.
This place really looks like Melrose Place.
We headed out wandering Hollywood Blvd around 10pm. Our plan was to head to Boulevard3. After reading the yelps reviews it seemed to be the it place. Our front desk told us to check out Playhouse. That was our back up plan. Boulevard3 was closed so on our way to Playhouse we saw a huge line. Found out it was for a new club that just open weeks ago called Eden.
We ended up getting bottle service there. It was 400 for a bottle of Belvedere 1 liter.
Son ended up getting pretty messed up. What are you doing on the stage Son?
At one point Son passed out at our table. We wanted to see how long we could stay before they asked him to leave. It was a good 30 minutes. We ended leaving around 2am.
Our drunk walk back to our hotel.
On our way back we grabbed some pizza.
JSP loves pizza!!!
and this is the last photo before the end of the night.

Epic Whitel elephant gift exchange

Every Christmas Eve my family, friends and I get together and have a White Elephant gift exchange. This was our 7th year doing this.  Some of us get nice gifts and then there are some jerks that get really bad gifts. The rules are you can spend no more than $25 dollars. The gift can only be stolen twice.

Before Phat took the title of most Epic f*cked up White Elephant gift. Phillip had the title. Phillip bought 20 gifts cards each in the amount of $1 to a bunch of random stores.

I suggest you watch this quick video about double dream hands to understand how epic this years white elephant was.

Phat's 6+min monologue.

Videos from the best Vegas trip ever. Aug 2009

If you haven't done so. I would suggest you read up on our Vegas trip back in Aug 2009. Follow the links below.

Day 1 arrival
Day 1 evening @ The Bank
Day 2 Breakfast at The Mansion
Day 2 evening @ Jet Nightclub
Day 3 Leaving the Skyloft

Keep in mind that throughout all these videos. We are pretty intoxicated. The only time we are not is when were having breakfast at The Mansion.

So the first video is of Charyl and I after the host at "The Bank" nightclub tried to sucker our group into buying another bottle. We refused so they told us we had to leave.

This is a video and Charyl and I in the Skyloft elevator walking back to our room. Don't you hate it when someone records a video and they tilt the camera like they are taking a picture? Yeah sorry about that.

We had reservations for breakfast at The Mansion at 9am. We had to meet our butler so that he could escort us to The Mansion Atrium. I was told it was invite only so I was not going to miss this chance. Here are videos of me trying to wake Peter and Phat

Here we are eating breakfast at The Mansion Atrium. It was a great way to start the morning.

You know that felling when you're partying and your favorite song comes on? Well for us that song was Soulja Boy "get your sway on"

We got really wasted so the following videos is of our group walking back from the Mirage to the MGM. ON our walk back I was desperately looking for a bar. I guess I still wanted to drink?

Here we are walking through the Bellagio. I'm still looking for a bar.

We are walking along the lake/pond in front of the Bellagio. This is the birth place of the famous picture of Phat riding a camel.

I guess Charyl almost sprained her ankle. She tried to tell me,but maybe I didn't hear her.

Robin's got some dirty feet!

At this point everyone needed to make a restroom stop. So we stopped by the Monte Carlo. We didn't notice at first but Phil was missing. Also Charyl has some dirty feet.

I'm always right!

So we couldn't find Phil. So we were hoping that he headed back to the room first. We decided to ask our concierge.

Here were looking for Phil in the room

We found Phil. Come to find out when our group decided to stop by the Monte Carlo. Phil just keep on going. He ran back to the MGM and straight to the Skyloft.

I guess after we found Phil. We decided to continue the party in the Skyloft. Good thing John always keeps up to date with the latest hits. John and his Louie Vuitton shoes.

Here's the last video. You know your drunk when your swiggin from the bottle.

After watching these videos it brings back great memories. I can't wait for Vegas Superbowl weekend. It's going to be nuts.

It was a gorgeous Monday for snowboarding. Couldn't have asked for anything better. Clear skies and a sunny day.
