Went for a bite to eat at Zelda's.

After Zelda's we went to Mr. Toot's Coffee House.

Located above Margaritaville

Inside of Mr. Toots.

It's a neat little coffee joint that serves sandwiches and pastries

They also have a small balcony with a 2 tables and a few chairs.

The view from the balcony

The view is great except for this cesspool of nastiness.

Nothing much on this day. We were planning to ride over to Monterey next but it looked really foggy over there so we decided not to.

Halloween Horror Nights

Halloween is upon us once again.

Every October some of my friends and I head down to SoCal for some type of Halloween event.

For the past 2 years we have been going to Knott's Scary Farm.
http://haunt.knotts.com/

For those who don't know. Knott's Berry Farm is a theme park in SoCal. During the months of October they turn the park into Knott's Scary Farm. The park usually closes at 6pm and reopens at 7pm on selected dates. Hours vary but usually stays open till 1am.

If your into haunted houses and Halloween stuff then this park is a must visit at least once. They first time we did we were hooked and have been going every year.

The parks are totally overhauled into a creepy Halloween theme. Knott's Scary Farm is a separate event and requires a separate ticket. So if your in the park during the day. They kick you out at 6pm and you have to buy another tickets to get back in for this event.

All of the major rides are open. There are haunted houses set up all over the park. All of the attractions are free. Some of the haunts are in 3-d and you have an option to purchase 3-d glasses for $1.

They turn off a lot of the lights in the park so the place is really dark. To make matters worse they outfit the park with fog machines so sometimes you can't even see where your walking and the worst part is they have what they call "Scare Zones" which are certain areas where employees are dressed up in costumes and they scare people. Sometimes they even chase and the costumes are cheap looking either.

There are live performance shows too. We always watch "The Hanging" it's a spoof/parody of all the years events.

We have not been able to go through all of the haunts in one visit and that is us focusing on the haunted houses only. We didn't even go on any rides and we still ran out of time.

I would say the one down side is to the haunts is that there are so many people there they just rush people through the haunt. I would rather they broke people into small groups and let them in slowly so you can get the full effect of the walk through.

There is so much more to do at the event. You have to see for yourself.

This year we will be going to Halloween Horror Nights.

Halloween Horror Nights is Universal Studios version of Knott's Scary Farm.

I have never been there before but I have read a lot about it. The concept is exactly like Knott's. They have scare zones, haunted houses, shows, and rides.

I would expect HHN quality to be better cause Universal Studios is a movie production company so they must have way better equipment I hope.

Here's what I heard so far.

The lines are super long for the Haunts because they actually hold the line and let small groups go through. I'm looking forward to that.

Also they have this thing called the Terror Tram. Which is a tram that shuttles you to actually movie sets and they drop you off and let you walk through them while they are decked out for Halloween. I heard they let people walk through the Bates Motel from the movie "psycho"

On the first night they opening they usually have a big opening ceremony.

Here's a video of the opening night at Universal Studios Florida.

For those of you who can't make it down to SoCal for a Halloween event.

Knott's Berry Farm now owns California's Great America aka (Paramount's Great America)

Last year was there first time doing the Halloween Event. It's not a good at Knott's but they will build up momentum. This will be their second year.

I might go to this one just to check it out.
I'm not sure if this one is new this year but have never noticed it.
Fear Factory aka (Gyros Fear Factory) is coming to Raging Waters.

I don't know what to expect of this event. I kind of want to see it. Not sure if it's just a haunted house like gyro's use to be. Where you pay to walk through or if it's a whole night event. Kind of curious about it though.

Here are some pics I found of HHN Orlando on Flickr

What's better than a single bladed Katana?

A sword with 2 blades you say? Wrong
A sword with 3 blades? Wrong again.
A sword with 3 blades and is rocket propelled? Correct!

Who is JD Power & Associates?

I have finally found the answer. It all makes sense now.

I had to slip this in before I continue about our trip.
